Find the student exchange program that is right for you!
Every individual’s student exchange program experience is different and there are many reasons for someone wanting to live and study overseas. By considering your destination choice, budget, preferred program length and education expectations, you will find one program will be more suitable than another. Scroll down to understand the difference between our Classic, Travel Assisted and Select Program Options.
Your SCCE Classic Exchange
The vast majority of our destinations are available via our Classic Exchange Program – in fact, the only destinations that do not offer a Classic Exchange are Canada and Hawaii.
When you apply to go on a Classic Student Exchange program with SCCE your departure and return dates are set, so be sure to pay attention to the departure months indicated on our website for each destination. You can find a summary sheet below. You will be able to choose between an academic year, semester, 3 months, 2-2.5 months or a 6 week summer break exchange program, depending on the destination. A terrific aspect of the Classic Exchange Program is that it allows you to travel with other exchange students who are on the same program.
After receiving your application you will be contacted for an interview and you will be asked to fill out an in-depth form that explains your likes, dislikes and what you want to get out of exchange. These will help generate your profile, which our partner in your chosen destination will use to find you the most suitable host family anywhere in the country.
These programs give you the opportunity to live like a local and experience a new way of life in your chosen destination. You will become part of a new family, attend a local high school and develop new friendships within your community. They are the perfect program for someone looking to experience a new culture.
Your SCCE Travel Assisted Exchange Program
Travel Assisted programs are identical to our Classic Exchange Programs, however, a member of our team travels with the group so you will have an extra level of support and guidance while travelling to your exchange destination. Our staff will be on hand at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane airports to assist with check-ins, available throughout the international flight, and then to ensure a smooth transfer to your domestic travel to your host family once in your destination country.
Travel assisted options are available on September and late October programs only and please note, minimum numbers apply.
Your SCCE Select Exchange Programs
Select Programs are available for Canada and the USA, and offer you more choice and control over your final destination. These North American options are ideal for someone who really knows exactly what they want to get out of their program. For example – do you have an academic goal in mind? Perhaps you want to choose a school that offers a specific subject or excels in a specific sport?
Select Exchange programs allow you to consider and choose preferred options for your program by choosing the exact school and district. While these programs are no more prestigious than our other programs, the privilege to choose and secure particular components are reflected in the program price.
